The latest Northern Neck Networking Meetup was one for the books — a perfect blend of community, culture, and connection. Hosted at the Westmoreland County Museum in Montross, Virginia, this gathering brought together local entrepreneurs, nonprofit leaders, and professionals from across the Northern Neck for an evening that truly celebrated the power of coming together.

Thank you to Rosemary Mahan, Executive Director of the Museum and Preacher Dave's BBQ for his delicious BBQ! It was a great night of networking!

Honoring a Local Treasure

Nestled in the heart of downtown Montross, the Westmoreland County Museum is one of the oldest museums in the Northern Neck and a cornerstone of the region’s cultural identity. Founded in 1941, the museum preserves and showcases the art, history, and heritage of Westmoreland County — from colonial beginnings and historic architecture to the stories of the families who built the area’s enduring legacy.

Under the leadership of Executive Director Rosemary Mahan, the museum continues to serve as a vibrant hub for education, exhibitions, and community engagement. Rosemary graciously opened the museum’s doors for this month’s Northern Neck Networking Meetup, welcoming attendees to explore its exhibits while enjoying an evening of fellowship and collaboration.

Community, Connection & Delicious BBQ

No great event is complete without great food — and Preacher Dave’s BBQ delivered just that! The aroma of slow-smoked barbecue filled the air as guests gathered to sample Dave’s signature dishes. His flavorful ribs, pulled pork, and savory sides set the perfect tone for an evening that felt more like a hometown celebration than a typical business mixer.

As everyone enjoyed their plates and conversations, laughter and lively chatter echoed through the museum’s courtyard. Old friends reconnected, new partnerships were born, and everyone left with full hearts (and full stomachs).

A Night to Remember

The Westmoreland County Museum offered an ideal backdrop for this month’s meetup — combining historic charm with a welcoming atmosphere that made every guest feel like part of something special. Attendees explored exhibits featuring local art, period furnishings, and artifacts that tell the story of Westmoreland’s place in Virginia’s history.

The evening embodied the mission of Northern Neck Networking: to foster collaboration, strengthen local businesses, and spotlight the incredible venues and organizations that make the region so unique.

Special Thanks

A heartfelt thank-you goes to Rosemary Mahan, Executive Director of the Westmoreland County Museum, for hosting such a memorable event and sharing her passion for local history. And of course, a big thank-you to Preacher Dave’s BBQ for providing a feast that brought everyone together in true Southern style.
